THREE YEARS SUCCESS WITH SEAQUIM
I use Seaquim for all my cows, calves and beef cattle. I used to have a problem with retained cleansing with about 3 or 4 retaining out of 60 cows now I have none retaining out of 60 cows. In fact I have used Seaquim for three years and I have no retained cleansing in three years.
I tried another mineral this year, and I will never do that again. When feeding Seaquim I had all my cows in calf, when feeding this rock mineral I had 6 not in calf this year. I also had milk fever come back this year which I never had whilst feeding Seaquim to the animals. I will not try another mineral again I mean Seaquim is a natural plant so compared to the other minerals it must be better this I found out at my cost!
Following on from my success with the Seaquim I had a soil survey done. We used to be very much in the dark with regards to the soil and the ordinary basic soil analysis does not tell you much.
By doing a soil survey I know what it actually requires. I used to blanket lime every three years at 2 tonnes/acre. By doing a soil survey I now know that my field is at 80% calcium instead 0f 68% therefore I have changed my system to help address this imbalance, saving me money and improving the performance of the soil.
At last someone has a system that can actually tell you what the ground really needs instead of a blanket approach when you just put on what you have always done. The soil survey is a very good system and the Glenside Advisor is impartial to the results and only recommends what the ground needs not just the Glenside fertiliser range. Trevor Crowley, Co Cork

THE BLACKSMITH SAYS SO
Mrs Sue Antrobus bought Seaquim to feed to the 12 week old Friesian cross bull calves because she used to have with ringworm and laminitis. Now with an improvement in the general health of the stock these are problems of the past, Blacksmith tells her keep feeding it to horse, it is marvellous for the horses feet, not only that but the horse is the envy of the locality with such a great coat." Mrs Sue Antrobus, Warwickshire
NO MORE BULLETS PLEASE
We have a copper, selenium and cobalt deficiency on the farm. We use to put copper bullets into the cows every March and then feed a special made mineral. This was costing £22/cow/year and we still had problems.
When we tested the blood and milk sampled we still found deficiencies. The animals were not performing as well as they should.
I tried Seaquim and now I would not move off it the main reason being:
- It was costing me £22/cow/year for minerals and I still had problems. Now it costs me £12/cow year for minerals and doing a much better job.
- The whole herd health has improved.
- The coat on the cows is much shinier and no brown tinge.
- Better milk quality.
- I used to have a problem with scour in the calves and they often died within two days. Now much less scour and also it is curable. I very rarely lose a calf to scour now. Seaquim has made a big difference to this farm both for the animals health and financially. Paddy Ewright, Co Kerry
MILK PRODUCTION UP
A herd of cows which was drying off, was suffering from molybdenum and selenium deficiency. Within two weeks of getting Seaquim not only were they a lot brighter, but milk production had gone back up. name credit and location to follow
CALVING MADE EASIER
John Brennans farm is a dairy farm of approximately 200 acres in Co. Wexford milking 70 cows. It also has a beef unit of X Belgium Blues.
For nearly all of his farming life Johns worst time has been around calving time. They have had no trouble getting in calf but when it came to the cows actually trying to calve down they just could not, ending up with assistance being necessary.
He tried many mineral supplements but the same problem reoccurred every year. He also turned to professional help but they could not come up with an answer to the problem.
In the fall of 1999 they were introduced to Seaquim through their Glenside Advisor who explained the benefits of the Glenside System from the soil to the animals. After so many promises being made from other representatives taking our cheques with nothing to show for it , they decided to give Seaquim a try. They bought just enough to take them up to calving. If it worked, we would take more, if not Glenside need not bother coming back.
Using the rates worked out by their Glenside Advisor and leaving some ad-lib, a healthier looking coat was observed. However, the proof of the pudding was when coming up to the dreaded calving time. Then one by one they all calved on their own to the delight of John Brennan. We only had to help one cow and she had twins. All the calves were healthy, very quick to their feet, with no problems retaining cleansing. The vet has missed his annual trips to the farm.
We have not changed our patterns of farming, we are still using the same feed rations, ect The only change was to add Seaquim and it worked. We are now going to use the Glenside System with Marinure on my early grass and silage. John Brennan, Co Wexford
VET BILLS REDUCED
I started feeding Seaquim to the dry cows, weaners and bullocks. The cattle had ringworm and within 3 weeks of feeding Seaquim it had cleared up. All the animals coats looked a lot healthier, The brown coat had gone and they were just black and white. The calves are a lot livelier and not so susceptible to illness. We have the vet on the farm a lot less than previous years, and that speaks for itself in terms of money saved after all if an animal is healthier then it will do better, I believe the Seaquim is making the animals a lot healthier.
After seeing the benefit of Seaquim on the animals, I used Marinure on my British Queen potatoes. The outcome was great, good roots and strong establishment means that I shall have a good crop to lift. From the small quantity I have lifted so far I have noticed a good eating quality, which adds to increased saleable value.
I also used Marinure on a grass reseed at the _ stage and I was amazed at the thickness of the sword. I am sure the cows will do well on that field. Michael OSullivan, Co Kerry
SEAQUIM IN RENFREWSHIRE
Controlled experiment with both ewes and fattening cattle.
The ewes have been looking much better and doing much better. After feeding they spread all over the field for grazing whereas the comparable batch of ewes hang around the feeding troughs and do not go out to graze. The lambs of those ewes that have had Seaquim are substantially better boned and thriving better.
On the fattening cattle experiment those cattle being fattened with Seaquim in their ration are ready three or four weeks earlier than those cattle not receiving Seaquim. Otherwise all conditions and rations have been identical with animals in the same shed in next door pens. R Parks
ORF IN STIRLING
The lambs were very bad with orf one year, but within one week of putting out some Seaquim they were totally clear. The hair had grown back and you would never have known they had it. name credit and location to follow
FERTILITY & FOOT PROBLEMS CURED
Mr Crawford
started using Seaquim because it was a natural product to help poor fertility in his dairy herd of 110 cows. His cows got over their fertility problems and he has no more foot problems even in wet weather where the stock are paddling about in mud. In his young stock there was an outbreak of ringworm, so he upped the intake of Seaquim and the ringworm dried up and disappeared. To make sure his young bulls get their Seaquim he feeds it in their home mixture.
To supplement the work of Seaquim on his stock Mr Crawford applies Glensides Superlime to his grass where he finds as a result the stock reduce their intake of Seaquim when grazing the treated fields. Mr Crawford, West Lothian
